Day 7- 31/08/08

Day 7 has finally arrived! :D Woke up early again to prepare for city tour part 2! Headed down to the canteen with yining, weiling and benji for breakfast! :D School is starting tomorrow for everyone, it would be so much more crowded! As the first week while we are here, they were having their summer vacation.

Breakfast :D

Anyway before we headed to the bus we took a few pics!

IF YOU EVER GET LOST!
you would need this
school map!
Nice pic taken by Benji! :D

So yes our first destination was Jiang Tan Han Kou.

So yes beautiful scenery, its mainly a park. However Mr Phua, Benji, Julian, Teck Yi and I cabbed down to a church. Gosh the whole sermon was in chinese, so i have to count on Benji for a translation. We werent dress appropriately thus we were given fierce and stern stares by the congregation. Sigh. Anyway we also met with the church's pastor in the office after the service. He also welcomed us back anytime. :D

So the 5 of us went walking around in all the streets and backlane before joinning the rest back at the starting point! :D Took alot of pictures here, and all this really shows their culture! :D
At the backlane! Its ulu.

Once we were out we got lost. Thus we asked around for directions! :D

As some have not had their breakfast! We hunted for food around! Thus we found this shop and decided to try! :D

We have to pay unfront first.
Get this coins before redeeming our food! :D

Anyway we continued walking around before reaching the destination! Take a look at the pictures! :D More in my com! hehe.
Redevelopment :D
Some rundown houses!
Beside this rundown houses, it was a hotel beside.
Such a contradiction!

Anw while walking back we passed a bus terminal. Their buses are cool, its like not seats inside but beds! Interesting to see.

Let see how much is your salary :D
Wahahaha water! Promoted by Wang Li Hong! :D

After meeting up with the rest. We headed to Fu Xin Jie by bus 11(walking). Its like another Orchard Road in Singapore, rather crowded especially on a weekend! Didnt buy anything cause nothing really interest me today!

Team A!

We bought this shirt a few days ago! :D
Headed to the fastfood for lunch!
It's not macs or kfc. Its their local, Dicos!
This girl is deprived of fastfood! HAHA!
Their counter bar and menu!
This 2 pathetic souls, standing outside cant eat! :(
My lunch! Not bad pls! :D Big serving for me too!
Behind me is Fu Xin Jie! :D
Play chess with me!
Chocolate Bubble Tea!
Ice Lemon tea to quench my thirst! :D

So yes back to the bus! Yining and I was bored so we tied the guy's hair up! HAHA. Check out Teck Yi and Willis! :D Took a short nap on the bus after that.

Went to play volleyball once we are back! There were so many people playing badminton, table tennis, basketball and even volleyball too! There are so many courts here! Filled with the young and the old! :D Headed to the roadside stalls behind our hostel after that to get our dinner! Ate ja jiang mian! :D Rather nice but gosh the chilli its so hot. I won't put so much the next time le. yup :D

Interesting Fact of the day! Weiling went around looking for a hard boiled egg. After which she went to rub on her face where the blueblack was. After which she peeled the egg. Guess how it look like after that!

.
.
.

Today was seriously an interesting day! Went to see how their local church look like and even saw their real culture by walking through the backlanes and so on. Not only headed to the Fu Xin Jie! :D It's another eye opener again just like yesterday! :D
Gosh i didnt know there was an earthquake in China! Glad we are all safe! ;D Anyway there was firework just now. It was beautiful! :D
Had a group meeting just now in my room! :D
Lessons start tomorrow!
National Education Message for the day! :D
3. We must uphold meritocracy and incorruptibility.
We provide opportunities for all, according to their ability and effort.
I feel that it is important to uphold honesty and provide opportunity for all, all this actions can be seen by living our daily lives! :D The way we attend school, the way we queue at any cashiers, and many many more. We can't allow corruption to take place too. As in China, the churches here are all controlled by the government. The congregation are unable to recieve the full messgage, I feel that this is not fair to them compared to those churches in Singapore. Whereby we are able to recieve the full message of God with no restrictions.

Day 6- 30/08/08

WHEE! Had so much fun today, the end result is I'm TIRED! really am! Let me take you through of what i have done today! :D

Woke up early today, headed to one of the canteens and had breakfast! :D Drank Soya Bean and had a mantou. There is something unique about the mantou here. The one we have it here is the original kind, the starting taste is bitter one and after a while you would be immune to the taste. Unlike Singapore's one whereby there is like so many different flavour for example chocolate and many more. Not only that the mantou size is huge, SERIOUSLY! It's too big for me to finish one! Want to try more food at the canteen for breakfast! XD

Soya Bean + Mantou = Breakfast

After which headed to the bus where by our city tour starts! :D

In the bus!

Our Tour Guide for the day! :D

This is the cap given to us. Purpose its for identification!
This cap is waterproof too! ;D

First stop headed to Hubei Provincial Museum! Whereby we saw alot of artefacts of the past, which dynasty uses what. How does a coffin looks like, having an accompanying coffin for the Emperor and so on. How do their weapons look like, their utensils, suitcases, musical instruments and many many more. It was an interesting opportunity as it really opens up China's History just right before your eyes. Not only that, all of the artefacts, bones of horses, coffins are REAL!

Team A!

This chart here is extremely interesting!
It shows you all the people buried in the accompanying coffin.
Their full name, age, weight, height and many more details!

Arent the bells interesting!
This is a gift between 2 states.
It is really huge! It's bigger than me!

Soldier!
Us at the lobby!
Here is the place where we took many photos!
Trust me on that! :D

This are one of the few museums that allowed you to take photos of pratically nothing. However the rule is no flash! Anyway headed to Shou Yi Garden Snack Street for lunch! Tried all sorts of food including deer meat on a stick just like a satay! I should say we all have big appetites! :D

The place is rather big! Not only that its crowded!
Hard to find seats.

Before that we have to purchas a card with value inside.
They don't accept cash.

Doesnt it look yummy! :D

Gosh. I bought about 600g of some biscuit.
Its rather salty but yummy! :D

Food!

Headed to Huang He Luo after lunch. It was walking distance from the snack street! This place its 6 storey high! However one storey its like 2 storey or something! IMAGINE THE HEIGHT! :D It was seriously a beautiful place! :D

Photo with Mr Phua.

Go see how big are the brushes! :D

View of the giangtic bell from the place(Huang He Luo)!
See whether you recognise those chinese characters! :D

Nice scenry right? :D
Interesting Fact: This tree is seriously old!
Its age its like 380years!
Tell me who can live this long! XD

Interesting Fact 2: Can you see something scribbled on the wall?
Its green in color!
Guess who wrote the poem!
.
.
.
IDK :D
However once LI BAI read this poem, he feels that he couldnt write any more poems.
As he thinks this poem is very beautiful!
Thus he stop writing after that.

SO yes that pratically sum up of where i have been today! Not long after headed back to the hostel. Ate cup noodles for dinner in the room with my roomies! :D

Pratically it was an interesting day once again! Looking at the artefacts. Today was the city tour part 1, tomorrow is part 2. Looking forward to it, however my legs would start to ache. We have walked alot. Trust me. haha. I wonder where would we be heading to! :D

Time passes so fast that day 6 in Wuhan is coming to an end! :x
