Anyway the group of 21 went to board the flight at terminal 1. Destination, Guangzhou for a transit flight. We sat China Southern Airlines, Economy Class. I must say their food wasn’t that bad as what I have thought. On the contrary it was delicious. Not only that during the long 4hr plus plane journey, we entertained each other with many ways. One good example was poker cards and took many pictures with my friends..
Upon arriving Guangzhou after lots of communications regarding a mistaken luggage by another fellow np-er and settling of all the administration stuff. We thus walk across the airport to another check in area for our transfer flight to our final destination at WUHAN! During the wait, we took many pictures again and explored the area slightly. Seeing the pay phone there is so much different compared to those we have back in Singapore. Anyway slept throughout the plane ride. Came down with a very bad flu, I guess due to the coldness in the plane. Sigh.
Upon arrival at Wuhan, once we got our luggage. We thus headed to the bus where we first met a student, Lee Xuan. Who is a new student to Wuhan University Science and Technology and also a volunteer for these activities. Along the long bus journey to the hostel she told us countless of information. For example there are nearby supermarkets and so on. Telling us how safe are the hostel and many other crucial information.
Thus during the journey despite taking photos along the way, the 6 and only hero guys we have told us like what to do with our belongings and that when we go out most at least must have 2 of them for safety reasons and so on. I really appreciate their help as firstly we all don’t know each other so well, but the way they treated us was like close friends that we knew each other for years. I really appreciate the guys and for their help. After hearing all those, seriously I was very scared. As I never have experienced all this before. Especially our stay here would be long, 6 weeks. We have to get used to the surroundings and be flexible.
There was so many stuff to see along the journey, seeing how the traffic are, similar products like petrol and many others. Not only that there are many roadside stalls especially selling fruits and dried products. There are so many cables too and you can’t find those in Singapore anymore. Traffic lights was also different, many shopping centers, hospitals. Another interesting thing I saw was shelters at the traffic lights. I guess it’s for the motorist and pedestrians basically act as a shelter especially on a rainy weather.
Everyone was busy snapping photos away. The haze or the mist is so bad here, that even our 10.1 mega pixels still doesn’t help in providing a good shot. HAHA.
Upon arrival at the hostel, yes my expectations are too high. Knowing it won’t as safe as when we are at Singapore. We have to know how to look after our items, belongings, especially cash, laptops, camera and also our most valuable passport. After seeing how our rooming was like and settled a bit. We went off for a long walk to the nearest macs to settle our dinner. The macs here is different not only that it is so much cheaper compared to Singapore. After which we headed back to the hostel and finish unpacking.

In every trip, definitely there are learning experiences. For example we have to learn how to be independent on our own to get our resources and of course look after our belongings especially valuables. I guess I should take a step back and watch the things happening around me first before start making comments. I also should be thankful for staying in Singapore especially with such security that I have experienced. Guess I have lots of things to learn during this trip. I should have prepared myself mentally for this and lower my expectations. Being grateful of what we have.
In conclusion we are happy to have the guy to live at the same floor with us, one at the front and the other room at the back. As without them, there would be no one to help us in our cry of cockroaches at any time even if it is past midnight. They really take good care of us. Girls can’t live without guys and that’s final.
I really appreciate for everyone’s help.
Let’s continue to do so! :D
