Hi everyone! I'm finally back from my 3 days 2 nights cruise.
Day 19- 12/09/08
Our journey began at the hostel. Where we all woke up early and caught the bus at 8am, destination was YiChang first. I must say the group of MDE students showed abit of kiasu-ism, as we all chiong so early to the meeting place to get the good seats on the bus. Why? Because it was a 5 hour long bus ride. IMAGINE THAT! So yes all of us got good seats in the end. Met our tour guide there too.
Not for long, our 5 hour plus journey bus ride towards YiChang thus begun! :D
Upon reaching the city, we met up with more tour guides and thus bring us for lunch. As it was close to 2pm. Headed to the restaruant below for lunch. As usual we had 10 dishes right before our very eyes! The food was not bad! :D thumbs up!
After lunch, we headed to the Three Gorges exhibit to view the dam, some learning points and the overview of it!
People in blue, CAMP PIAK!
Ticket!
Up up up in the air.
The dam is at the back!
By the time this mini tour ended it was time for dinner. Thus we had a dinner nearby! This restaruant doesnt have any air-con, thus we were all sweating while eating. The worst part is one bottle of COLD COCA COLA cost 10RMB. A rip off, sorry to say that. As we could get it cheaper like 3RMB. Not only that, they didnt had any spoons to go along with the utensils. To me the food here was average.
After our dinner, we headed to the cruise! We reached the cruise, our ultimate destination at about 8pm that day. 2 person to a room. I must say the bed was very comfortable! :D However the air con was not cold at all, thus we opened the windows to sleep! This is a 4 star cruise, luckily i didnt see a bug inside the room, however i spotted a cockroach loitering at the corridor. Oops! :X
Heulth? or Health?
Day 20- 13/09/08
We woke up as early as 6.3oam, all thanks to the cruise alarm! Why? Cause we got some activities lined up. After breakfast, we headed to another ship. Boarded the ship, enjoyed the scenery along the way. After about an hour, we embarked on a harbour and changed to a sampan i suppose. It was a tiny boat, and we were water drifiting thanks to all the man who did their job. :D It was really tiring for them i must say, as 17 students + 1 Tour guide in the boat, and they had to drift all of us for quite some time. THANKS! :D The river was very green i must say, and we were told we can drink the water at this particular spot. Thus we drank abit, and I think it tasted better than the mineral water we all have! :D
Ticket!
Life jackets on please!
Headed back to the ship after which and back on to the cruise for our lunch. During the afternoon, most of us slack around, watch the dvds that are being played, had afternoon sleep and many many more. While the ship smoothly sail passed the Goodness Peak and the Last Gorge (Qutarg Gorge). To me I would not be able to differientiate all the Gorges as it all looks the same to me. Oops :X
Had dinner at about 6pm i guess while the ship slowly embark at Ferngjie to visit the White Emperor Temple.
1% alcoholic?
Tickets!
In the temple.
After back on the cruise, it smoothly sails back to our destination: right where we started at Maoping Harbour! As for the last night, I spent most of the time on the 5th Storey deck to have a peaceful moment while enjoying the scenery, the cold weather upstairs and also having chit chat sessions with my friends. The wind was fierce I must say. Thanks Juilian for your windbreaker! :D Went back to the room to sleep for about 2 hours as we wanted to catch the sunrise. However we were unable to catch it, as we couldnt spot the sun at all! The day just slowly light up and thats it sadly.
Day 21- 14/09/08
Woke up about an hour later to pack our bag and had breakfast. Getting ready to embark off from the lovely cruise! Destination was YiChang City it was about an hour bus ride and we changed to our own coaches and back to Wuhan. It was really a long bus ride back and we only reach back at Wuhan about 2pm plus? While we unpacked and off for lunch at the nearby fast food. I have finally collected my last wawa! :D
Slacked the afternoon away while some gathered downstairs for a game of badminton. After getting dinner, we had a mini mooncake festival celebration downstairs combined with the ECE people. Look at the moon cakes! The moon is really round now, brightly shinning too! :D
Mooncakes!
The moon looks small here!
Thats all! :D
NE MESSAGE 3
We must preserve racial and religious harmony.
We value our diversity and are determined to stay a united people.
Living in a multi racial country, it is definitely important to practice the process of giving and taking so that all races can live in harmony! However I feel that we have to practice this no matter where we are even if we are at China. It is also interesting how 4 different races in Singapore are able to practice this thus we value our diversity and determined to stay united! :D Thus give and take!
talking over the phone, realising im missing you badly. :X
